UFCW Unions & Employers Legal Assistance Fund

The UFCW Unions & Employers Legal Assistance Fund is a valuable pre-paid legal services benefit and is available to eligible participants in Georgia. Plan benefits are comprehensive; they cover legal services related to certain criminal and consumer actions (such as bankruptcy, garnishment, etc.) domestic relations matters (such as divorce, child support, adoption, etc.), creation of a will and estate administration issues, as well as many other types of services. There are some exclusions that are detailed in the Summary Plan Description ("SPD"). You should refer to the full text of the SPD for information on all covered services and exclusions. Also, if your employer contributes a certain amount to the Fund, you have the option to obtain reimbursement up to a certain limited amount if you should use the services of an attorney other than an in-house attorney. You should contact the UFCW Unions and Employers Legal Assistance Fund Office to confirm you are eligible for this benefit before incurring legal expenses. If you are told you are not eligible and you have further questions, you should contact the LLC at (770) 997-9910 to discuss.

The information contained on this website is general in nature. Questions regarding your benefits should be directed to the Legal Fund at the numbers provided below. The UFCW Unions & Employers Legal Assistance Fund's Plan documents will always control a determination of benefits available to you.

For more information about services provided by your in-house counsel, please contact the Georgia Legal Assistance Fund Office.

FIGHTING TRAFFIC

Having speeding tickets may prevent you from being allowed to drive. Having representation when faced with a speeding ticket may help reduce the severity of penalties imposed by the court, which can include fines, points on the driver's license, and higher insurance premiums. In certain circumstances, having representation may be key in preventing possible suspension of driving privileges. Please contact the Legal Fund Office for further information about how we might assist you when faced with a speeding ticket.

This process can add to the stress and can become a distraction from your everyday obligation. Please contact the Legal Fund Office for further information about how we might assist you in providing legal support during any divorce.

yes i will

YES, I WILL

People rarely like to talk about dying. But we must consider how to prepare in advance for our family and friends. This way, there is no confusion about our wishes. A Will allows you to control how your property will be distributed after your death. In Georgia, any competent person aged 14 or older can have a Will prepared. The great thing about your Will is that you are in control of the process as long as you have one that is properly prepared in accordance with state law. Please contact the Legal Fund Office for further information about how we might assist you in drafting a Will.
